I am still alive

Yes I am still alive. I finally got some news that is worth sharing. As most of you know I am working for Rite Aid Pharmacy in Placerville. Currently I have been working as a Pharmacy Clerk/Technician-in-Training. I have thoroughly enjoyed the job and have learned a lot. I have gotten to know one of the most influential men in the corporation and he was my boss at the store as my Pharmacy Manager, but he just recently promoted to Pharmacy District Manager of my district. I was so grateful. The old PDM was both old and a big grouch. No one liked him. Anyway, all of that to say, that I have completed my training about a month ago and I needed my final exam which is on computer and so that I could take it and send all of my stuff to the California Board of Pharmacy, and get my Tech license. But since the old PDM was quiting I couldn't get the corp people to upload my test. So anyway, I went to work today and prayed that the test would be there when I checked. I came back from lunch and my new boss, The new PDM's wife, told me that the district trainer had called and said that my test would be there by Friday. Well I was happy enough to hear that but what was better was that when I checked it was already there!!! So I went ahead a took it ...and passed ...I was so happy. Praise the Lord. I still want to take the National Test so I can work out of state if the need comes. But I can finally send all my stuff of to the State of Ca!!
The other day I was working with a Pharmacist who had a crazy awesome car. A Corvette Z06 with a 500 HP engine and bright yellow. It was cool. Anyway, on the way out after we closed the RX he asked my if I wanted to drive it. I was so nervous. I killed it right after I started driving. It was a stick and I know how to drive sticks, My truck is a stick but it is a 18 year old truck that drives...well... like a truck. So a car that is so fast and fancy was a wee bit different. But I got the hang of the gears and clutch and we went flying...literally...all over El Dorado county. Good thing the CHP hadn't dispatched to many cruisers... I almost hit 100 MPH!!!! It was so much fun. It drove so nice. I think I'd rather have a GT40 or a Viper. But it was fun.

Have we sunk this far?

I read this on a site that I visited a while back while looking for a picture of the American Flag. I ran across this poem that a elementary student in a public school wrote. Very touching and a sad evidence of how far America has gone.

Now I sit me down in school

Where praying is against the rule

For this great nation under God

Finds mention of Him very odd.

If Scripture now the class recites,

It violates the Bill of Rights.

And anytime my head I bow

Becomes a Federal matter now.

Our hair can be purple, orange or green,

That's no offense; it's a freedom scene.

The law is specific, the law is precise.

Prayers spoken aloud are a serious vice.

For praying in a public hall

Might offend someone with no faith at all.

In silence alone we must meditate,

God's name is prohibited by the state.

We're allowed to cuss and dress like freaks,

And pierce our noses, tongues and cheeks.

They've outlawed guns, but FIRST the Bible.

To quote the Good Book makes me liable.

We can elect a pregnant Senior Queen,

And the 'unwed daddy,' our Senior King.

It's "inappropriate" to teach right from wrong,

We're taught that such "judgments" do not belong.

We can get our condoms and birth controls,

Study witchcraft, vampires and totem poles.

But the Ten Commandments are not allowed,

No word of God must reach this crowd.

It's scary here I must confess,

When chaos reigns the school's a mess.

So, Lord, this silent plea I make:

Should I be shot; My soul please take!

I found this story as well. Very powerful. Never give up. It is kinda like a quote I heard which states, "There are two great days in a person's life-the day we are born, and the day we discover why!"

One day I decided to quit...
I quit my job, my relationship, my spirituality... I wanted to quit my life.
I went to the woods to have one last talk with God.

"God", I asked, "Can you give me one good reason not to quit?"
His answer surprised me...
"Look around", He said. "Do you see the fern and the bamboo?"

"Yes", I replied.
"When I planted the fern and the bamboo seeds, I took very good care of them.

I gave them light.

I gave them water.

The fern quickly grew from the earth.

Its brilliant green covered the floor.

Yet nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo.
In the second year the Fern grew more vibrant and plentiful.
And again, nothing came from the bamboo seed. But I did not quit on the bamboo. He said.
"In year three there was still nothing from the bamboo seed.

But I would not quit.
In year four, again, there was nothing from the bamboo seed. I would, not quit." He said.
"Then in the fifth year a tiny sprout emerged from the earth. Compared to the fern it was seemingly small and insignificant...But just 6 months later the bamboo rose to over 100 feet tall. It had spent the five years growing roots. Those roots made it strong and gave it what it needed to survive.
I would not give any of my creations a challenge it could not handle."
He asked me. "Did you know, my child, that all this time you have been struggling, you have actually been growing roots".

"I would not quit on the bamboo.

I will never quit on you."
"Don't compare yourself to others."

He said.

"The bamboo had a different Purpose than the fern.

Yet they both make the forest beautiful."
"Your time will come", God said to me.

"You will rise high"
"How high should I rise?"

I asked.
"How high will the bamboo rise?" He asked in return.
"As high as it can?" I questioned.
"Yes." He said, "Give me glory by rising as high as you can."
I left the forest and brought back this story.

I hope these words can help you see that God will never give up on you.
Never, Never, Never Give up.
For the Christian Prayer is not an option but an opportunity.
Don't tell the Lord how big the problem is, tell the problem how Great the Lord is!

Another California maniac...(DRIVER!)

Yes, the countdown is completed. At 8:57 Friday, September 14, 2007, The Department of Motor Vehicals, California, granted me my Minor's Provisional license. It is soooo much fun to be able to drive alone. She only marked me off one tiny error too.
Also, Thursday I am surpossed to be going to the first of six Pharm Tech classes which, upon completion I will be a registered Technician of the state of California. Please pray that that all works out and that they will actually send me. It has been a madhouse in every way shape, form and angle at my work right now. We have a new PM (Pharm Manager) and he is on the ball, of showing all of us where we had been wrong. The COOL thing is, he is absolutely correct and his views coincide 100% with what I had often tried to suggest to younger, rasher PMs. He also is a computer programmer on top of a Pharmacist and who knows what else to the guy is like smarter than smart. He actually designed the program that all Rite Aid Pharmacy's in the world use. Which is a total of 5,000+. Pretty neat to know a guy like that. Needless to say, me and him get along fantastically well.

Since I havent posted in a bit...

Well, I did manage to get that transfer to the Pharmacy at Rite Aid. It is pretty nice and I get to work the morning shift instead of closing every night. I like it and I am working on training to become a Pharmacy Tech.
I got promoted to a Staff Sergeant in my Civil Air Patrol program. Other than that my life has been pretty boring.
